#MeetTheTeacherAtSEEC | Meet the educator who proactively supports children in developing every skill at Special Em’s

In special education, every skill a child develops represents an important step in their journey toward growth and inclusion. For this reason, educators do more than simply support children in completing tasks. They proactively create meaningful opportunities for children to practise, explore, and gradually become more independent.

With five years of experience in education, Ms. Ngo Diem Phuc is currently an Individual Intervention Teacher at Special Em’s Education Center (SEEC) – Go Vap. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education from Tra Vinh University and has experience supporting children with special needs, particularly children between the ages of 6 and 8.

Ms. Phuc’s professional strengths focus on physical development, motor skills, and skill-building through sports and physical activities, including swimming and cycling. She also supports children in developing the essential skills needed to prepare for the transition to primary school. She has received training in and applies approaches such as ABA, TEACCH, and pre-primary preparation programs, using these frameworks to design activities that align with each child’s abilities and developmental goals.

In her intervention sessions, Ms. Phuc focuses on creating opportunities for children to do things independently rather than doing tasks for them. Through this approach, children can develop initiative, independence, and confidence. For her, a moment of waiting, a timely prompt, or simply giving a child the opportunity to try can make a meaningful difference in helping them acquire a new skill.

One of the most memorable milestones in her professional journey has been supporting students as they completed their intervention programs and prepared to enter Grade 1. Through the skills they practised during learning sessions, physical activities, and everyday routines, these children gradually became more confident as they transitioned into a new learning environment.

At Special Em’s, Ms. Phuc continues to build on her strengths in individual intervention, physical development, and pre-primary preparation. With her proactive approach, dedication, and commitment to continuous learning, she strives to create more opportunities for children to practise, develop their skills, and gradually become more confident and independent as they move forward.
