#MeetTheTeacherAtSEEC | Meet the educator who starts by understanding behavior to build a strong foundation for every child at Special Em’s

In Special Education, a child’s behavior is not simply something that needs to be changed or corrected. It can also be a way for children to communicate and express their needs. Therefore, observing behavior, understanding the reasons behind it, and selecting appropriate support strategies are essential foundations for effectively supporting each child.

At Special Em’s Education Center (SEEC), Ms. Thái Ngọc Phụng is a Special Education Teacher with 5 years of experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other developmental support needs, particularly children aged 3–6. With a background in Educational Psychology from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Ms. Phụng specializes in Behavior Intervention and Pre-Primary Education.

In Behavior Intervention, she focuses on identifying the underlying reasons behind children’s behaviors and developing appropriate support strategies, helping them gradually strengthen their communication, adaptive skills, and participation in daily activities. Through the Pre-Primary program, she supports children in developing the knowledge and essential skills they need before entering Grade 1—from participating in learning activities and following instructions to becoming more independent and confident in a school environment.

At SEEC, each support plan is developed based on the individual abilities and needs of each child. Rather than focusing solely on the speed of progress, the intervention process emphasizes recognizing every step forward, no matter how small, while building a strong foundation for continued development.

With calmness, sensitivity, and consistency, Ms. Thái Ngọc Phụng and the SEEC team support children from understanding their behavior to developing essential foundational skills, with the goal of helping every child grow at their own pace and become increasingly confident and independent throughout their learning and inclusion journey.
